NABU and SAPO announced charges against officials related to the introduction of the so-called "Rotterdam plus" electricity price formula
|

According to the investigation, the losses of electricity consumers, caused by this formula, amounted to almost 19 billion UAH (around 730 million USD).
The charges were announced against the former head of the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission Dmytro Vovk (on the photo), three Commission officials and two top managers of Akhmetov's DTEK company. More details.

Сriminal charges were announced against judges who had intervened in the activity of judicial self-governance body

On August 2, the Prosecutor General's Office announced criminal charges against Pavlo Vovk, president of Kyiv District Administrative Court (on the photo) and three other judges.
|
|
|
According to Lutsenko, next week the PGO will request the High Council of Justice to grant consent for house arrest and suspension from office for the suspects.
Earlier we informed how these officials masterminded a scheme to avoid the qualification assessment and intervene in the activity of the judicial self-government body High Qualification Commission of Judges.

Police closed a perspective case, which was taken away from NABU

The enterprise Tokmak Solar Energy, which is controlled by local Members of Parliament in Zaporizhzhya oblast from the Opposition Bloc Ruslan Bozhko and Oleksandr Repkin, sold electricity to the state enterprise Energorynok at the overestimated price.

According to the investigation, Tokmak Solar Energy received the "green tariff" by filing forged documents on putting into service not yet constructed areas. The embezzlement using this scheme reaches 300 million UAH.
SAPO prosecutors decided to take this case away from NABU and transfer it to the National Police, in violation of the jurisdiction. We warned such a transfer will play in the hands of the corrupt officials and added the case to our "Register of cases dumped by SAPO". As was expected, the police closed the proceeding back in May 2019. We learnt this from the police's answer to our appeal.

One year passed after the acid attack against Kateryna Handziuk. Justice yet to come

One year passed, and:
- not all instigators were named;
- all instigators are free;
- the executors got mild sentences;
- an organizer fled abroad.
This is the result of unsatisfactory work of the PGO, Interior Ministry, SBU.

The initiative "Who is behind the attack against Kateryna Handziuk" prepared a detailed timeline of the case explaining step by step how the investigation has been dumped. Now it is available in Ukrainian, but the English version is coming soon.
Moreover, the initiative reports that on August 5 the PGO sent the case against Pavlovskyi (organizer of the assassination and middleman between the executors and the instigators) to the Kherson city court. The party affected learnt about this from the court's website and not from the prosecutors. Katya's father did not see the deal and therefore did not agree to it. The court cannot approve the deal if the affected party hasn't done so.
