Saddle Hills County to assume ownership of sewage lagoons at Savanna and Bonanza schools
Since connecting additional facilities and residences, Saddle Hills County has determined that it is no longer equitable for PWPSD to cover the operation and maintenance costs associated with two wastewater lagoons and associated low pressure sewer lines that were originally constructed to provide service to Savanna School and Bonanza School.
The PWPSD Board agreed to transfer the Savanna Sewage Lagoon and the Bonanza Sewage Lagoon to Saddle Hills County, pending written approval from the Minister of Education, which is required for disposition of property, as outlined in Section 192 of the Education Act.

Reading University presentation
Reading University is a three-week summer program offered at Grande Prairie Regional College that provides remedial reading support to Grade 3 children based on referrals by teachers from the three local school divisions. In their presentation to the Board, Reading University co-founders Linda Side and Rhonda Side and Reading University Principal Helen Neufeld noted that the program, now in its 11th year, is free for families and provides a non-competitive supportive learning environment where all students can experience success. All associated costs are fully funded by community support, including busing, snacks and lunches, T-shirts, backpacks and supplies. The summer 2019 program provided support to 195 Grade 3 students.
