72 hours to the Summit!!!
Your fearless newsletter writer and TNT Co-Founder Tim Lynn joined 30-40 jovial Calgarians down in TNT YYC this week. 

And honestly, it felt just like home.

I introduced myself to the first person I saw only to find a smirking Kevin Dahl revealing himself behind the mask (Zoom friends look so different in real life!)

Renowned  YYC Community builder Zac (no relation) came by with his fiancee and TNT Investor, Nishka.

Braedan gave us a full history of FÜM before handing out samples that Chris from Beuvray Ventures enjoyed all night long. 

Simon from Moveez stayed late into the night as did Houski founder Alex and TNT investors Neil, Jade, Denise, Trevor and Idan.  

There were even YEG friends in the house!

The freewheeling mingling of investors, entrepreneurs and scientists embodied the TNT spirit about as well as any meet-up could. 

Back in YEG, TNT investors David and Lindsay guest-hosted an evening featuring first time TNTer Sam, a 'Ghalia v. Ghalia' debate took place over technology startup TalkMaze, and TNT investor Brendan Hance showed up first to the party! Sam Beaudoin, founder of TradesLink was a first-time TNTer, and pleasantly surprised to find out his app works on a folding phone, a type of device he didn’t know existed.

Another new TNTer, Matt, eagerly soaked up Jonah’s advice from Steve Blank to “get out of the building” and talk to customers. Even though Matt technically didn’t leave Campio, he stood up on the spot and walked over to a table of strangers and asked them what they thought of his new sweater mock-up and clothing concept.

Over in SK, first time TNT investor Katrina German and her company Ethical Digital sponsored some grub for some hungry TNTers.

  • In YEG, we're back at Polar Park for another retro throwback!  We'll be upstairs in their cozy event space.  Dave from Election Buddy has graciously offered his meeting space to our investors for their final deliberation.
  • In YYC, we're ecstatic to announce we'll be at Calgary's new flagship event space for entrepreneurs:  the Calgary Innovation Center.  Huge thanks to Platform Calgary for working with us to make this happen!
  • In YXE, Innovation Place is hosting us again in Saskatoon!  And we mean really hosting us - with a 21st century stage, cocktails, and food.
  • In YQR, Path Cowork is hosting a live viewing party right in downtown Regina, followed up by an afterparty at Cathedral Social Hall! 

2 pm MST - Action Starts!

We've got 2 full hours of pre-pitch activity, including a Blind Pitch competition, Pre-seed pitch decks from your hometown favorites, and a virtual lab tour of Future Fields' new laboratory space. Paul Singh,  Founder of Results Junkies and one of the original 3 partners at 500 startups will be joining us to share how he invests in 200 deals per year.  
 

4 pm MST - Pitches from across the prairies begins

YEG.  YYC.  SK.  YEG.  YYC. SK.  YEG.  YYC.  SK.....for two and a half hours straight!  Cheer on your local entrepreneurs live.  Watch the other regions on the big screen.  Have fun.  Make Friends.  Build Companies.  At least 3 deals are happening on the 18th and hopefully more!
 

6:30 pm MST - VCs are back for a pitch night of their own

Is there a better way to keep the energy and anticipation up while the Angel Investors are deliberating their final choices?  How about with local and international VCs, some of whom have already invested in some of the finalists!  They're always looking for more Prairie startups to add to their portfolios. 
 

7:30 pm MST - Investments Announced

Minimum of 3 deals.  Largest investor pool ever at Startup TNT.  How much money will our startups raise?  Stick around to pop the bubbly!
 

7:45 pm MST - TNT After-parties start and go all night long

Or at least until they kick us out of the bar!
