The Bretton Woods@75 Compendium will be released on July 1, 2019, marking the 75th Anniversary of the Bretton Woods Conference. This unique collection of 50+ forward-looking essays is written by a globally diverse set of the Bretton Woods Committee’s widely respected and influential membership. See a sneak peek of some of the author’s recommendations through our Author Spotlight Series.

Gala Anniversary Dinner 

Bretton Woods@75 will culminate in the Anniversary Gala Dinner on October 17, 2019 in Washington, DC at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium. Please save the date for this celebratory evening– invitations forthcoming.

Bretton Woods@75 Dialogue: Whither the Global Financial System?

On Wednesday, May 8, 2019, the Bretton Woods Committee co-hosted a global dialogue alongside Morgan Stanley titled "Whither the Global Financial System?", which delved into the future of the international financial system. Featured speakers included Colm Kelleher, President, Morgan Stanley; William C. Dudley, Former President and CEO, Federal Reserve Bank of New York; Jonathan Pruzan, Chief Financial Officer, Morgan Stanley; and moderated by Richard A. 2019 Annual Meeting - Honoring 75 Years: Forging the Future of Bretton Woods 

On April 10, 2019, the Bretton Woods Committee held its 36th Annual Meeting at the IMF Headquarters in Washington, DC where over 200 Committee members and global leaders attended. This year’s conversation – Honoring 75 Years: Forging the Future of Bretton Woods – prompted dialogue around the roles of the IMF, World Bank, and WTO in the global economy and how these institutions must evolve to be fit-for-purpose into the future.

The Future of the World Bank Under the Next President 

On April 11, 2019, the Bretton Woods Committee co-hosted a panel with the Center for Global Development, The Future of the World Bank Under the Next President, which explored the most urgent issues in the development landscape and the role of the World Bank in addressing these challenges in the future. Featured speakers included Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Minister of Finance of Indonesia; Lawrence H. Summers, Charles W. Eliot University Professor at Harvard University; Minouche Shafik, Director of the London School of Economics and Political Science; Afsaneh Beschloss, Founder and CEO of the RockCreek Group; and Nicholas Stern, IG Patel Professor of Economics and Government at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Bretton Woods@75 Compendium Author Appreciation Dinner

On April 11, 2019, in appreciation of the contributors to the Bretton Woods@75 Compendium, the Bretton Woods Committee held a private dinner for authors, supporters, and special guests. Early insights on topics discussed throughout the Bretton Woods@75 Compendium were shared and participants enjoyed a lively discourse around reimagining global economic governance and recommendations to evolve and strengthen the Bretton Woods architecture and institutions for a rapidly changing world.

Mame Khary Diene, Founder & CEO of Bioessence Laboratories, was listed in The 2019- 50 Under 50 publication and was named Senegal’s “Young Female Pioneer” by Intelligence Magazine.
