Nearly two years ago, I first arrived at the Great Plains on the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe Reservation. To this day, I'm forever changed personally and professionally.

That's why the brand new chapter in "Corporate Con Job: How Mainstream Media Aids the Oligarchy" titled "Standing Rock: America's Fascist Takeover" is one of the most important pieces I've ever written.

In more raw and authentic tones than ever before, I reveal what it was REALLY like covering the horrifying scenes of tear gas, grenades, rubber bullets, and worse surrounding me and thousands of Native Americans and environmental activists for months. I also reveal and expose a lot of things you probably had NO IDEA were happening behind the scenes at Standing Rock. Here's a short excerpt:

In front of me, I could see water protectors in the frigid water holding their hands straight up, only to receive a point-blank range shot of pepper spray to their faces from militarized police anyway.

Hired guns who seemed to take pleasure in the brutality they were unleashing on other humans—peaceful humans. Another cloud of suffocating pepper spray slid off the water covering water protectors who were in pain but unyielding on their own land, in defense of the water that served millions...

To me, this chapter is about a lot more than what happened at Standing Rock—it's about the facade—sold every day by a corrupt corporate media—that America is some shining democracy which lies in envy of the rest of the world. I will be upfront: these words and stories might make you angry, it might make you sad, and it might re-trigger the heightened feelings you had during the #NoDAPL movement.

And that's a GOOD thing. After all—the moment we forget is when the brutalization of unarmed Americans by the publicly-funded police (protecting a private oil company) becomes normalized.
