We are in search of passionate educators (like YOU) to apply to be a part of some terrific learning opportunities this summer. 

WPT Education is offering scholarships for two amazing professional development opportunities: 

Wisconsin American Indian Studies Summer Institute

An active, highly participatory, week-long workshop designed to increase participants' understanding of issues related to the history, culture, and tribal sovereignty of the eleven federally-recognized American Indian nations and tribal communities in Wisconsin. The goals of the summer institute relate to both American Indian studies and the education of American Indian students. 

• When: July 31st - August 4th, 2017  

• Where: Crandon, WI 

• Two full scholarships are available covering tuition, lodging and travel.

• Assist in providing more tools for educators by participating as a Beta-tester for the Wisconsin First Nations resource website through flexibly scheduled sessions with WPT Education this fall.

• Open to all K-12 educators, elementary school educators are especially encouraged to apply.

Hip Hop in the Heartland

A unique conference designed for teachers to gain a better understanding of the scope of hip hop history, culture, and politics. Deepen your practice as a spoken word and hip hop educator, and engage in best practice approaches to student-centered liberatory education models. 

• When: July 10th - July 14th (Official Conference) & July 15th (WPT Education workshop) 

• Where: Madison, WI 

• Find a colleague to apply with! These scholarships will be awarded in pairs, with a preference for cohorts of teachers that include one music or fine arts teacher. 

• Join WPT Education at the end of the conference to extend your learning and collaborate on materials that will serve educators throughout the state. 

• Scholarship covers registration, travel and lodging.
