Guide to Uploading Art and Music to Duplication.ca

The question that we receive the most often is “Where do I upload my files?” When you order cassette duplication or CD pressing you promptly receive an email with an FTP upload link, so that’s simple enough, but ordering printed artwork or duplication through the online store is a bit trickier. We manually send an email explaining the process, but if you know what you’re doing you can go ahead without needing to wait. We’re working on implementing an automated system to simplify the whole deal, but in the meantime here’s a quick and easy process to sending us the goods!

On the top menu bar of our website you should see an Upload Files link. Needless to say, your journey begins with clicking that link. From there you will see a giant UPLOAD button a little bit further down in the page which will send you to our uploads page.

From here enter the following credentials:

Username: client
Password: bonjour

You’re in! Now click on Create Folder to have your own personal upload folder. We recommend naming the folder by your order number and, if you wish, your project title. This helps us locate the folder easily and eliminates the need to contact you in search of the files.

Enter your folder and drag in your files. Click ‘upload’, wait for the upload process to finish, and voila! We have your files and we can begin production!

Helpful Tips

  • Verify your upload has completed. You can do this by comparing the upload size with the size of the file on your hard drive.

  • Compress your files. Placing all your artwork files in one compressed folder and the audio files in a separate compressed folder will simplify the uploading and downloading process. ZIP and 7ZIP are acceptable formats, but our favourite is RAR since it has better corruption detection.

  • DOUBLE CHECK YOUR FILES BEFORE UPLOADING! If there are typos in your artwork or tracks out of order after we’ve received your files there’s the possibility of a re-processing fee. Best to double if not triple check before uploading.

  • Add bleed to your artwork. This helps us a lot and goes a long way to make sure that we don’t need to send your files back before printing.

Now you can go ahead and place an order in our online store! We have everything you need for an album release, from packaging to printing to the physical media itself. Have your mind blown by our specialty items like Digipak Lites, Maltese Cross cassette boxes, and laser engraving directly on the face of the tape.
