Hello Dupe Gang! Last week told you all about our VHS products and services, including our capabilities of transferring VHS to DVD and digital. This is a great service for old home movies, wedding videos, or simply those one-of-a-kind rarities that you don't want to lose in a sea of tracking errors and dropped signals.
VHS isn't the only transferring service we offer! Using our professional cassette decks (which undergo rigorous calibration and cleaning routines) we can digitize your old audio cassettes to a lossless WAV file, MP3, or a 16-bit CD. If needed we can reduce the tape hiss for cleaner sound. Are you sitting on some rare vinyl? We can transfer those to digital files or CD as well! We'll be sure to clean the record first to avoid unwanted pops and crackles.
Moreover, we can transfer all other kinds of retro media. MiniDiscs from those halcyon electronic days, 8mm film from your parents' old collection, and even CDs to digital files for those who are lacking a CD drive on newer model laptops. Whether it's Betamax, DAT, DV tape, or anything else, we're here to help!
Just reply to this email with a list of what you need transferred and we'll send you a quote!
Make your cassette decks sound their best!
At the Montreal office we're constantly calibrating and maintaining our cassette decks. It's the reason why your cassettes sound so loud and clean with minimal tape hiss and no distortion! Every now and then we receive a message from a fellow tape head who wants to know how we recommend going about cleaning cassette decks.
We have just the answer! Two different cassette head cleaners have been added to our online shop. These cassette and head cleaning fluid combos should be used after every 20 hours of playback time or when your audio begins to sound dull. They gently clean away dust, dirt, and oxide buildup without damaging tape heads, guides, or pinch rollers. This model is precisely made and includes a high quality cleaning fabric. We also carry an economy version which should be replaced after every 10 uses.
