There is a Polycarbonate Shortage in the CD/DVD Industry

You may have heard that there’s a shortage of polycarbonate material that’s currently rocking the CD / DVD industry.
We’d like to take a moment to inform artists and labels that Duplication.ca is not affected by the shortage. We are able to manufacture CDs and DVDs at full capacity.

Polycarbonate is the material used to create the transparent disc in CD production. While the polycarbonate is molded into shape the digital audio/video bits are pressed into it with a stamper, just like vinyl records. Polycarbonate is used thanks to its durability and transparency, and is the backbone of the CD manufacturing industry.

Our CD pressing services cater to labels and artists of all sizes. Whether you’re releasing limited run CDs for local sales, gearing up for the merch table for when it’s safe to tour again, or have a distribution plan ready for in-store merchandise, we have you covered! We have dozens of packaging options to match your style and budget.

If you’re looking for quick CD pressing for your demos or budget releases, then check out our CD duplication quote page. 2-panel jacket packages are slim and light, great for lettermail shipping while we try to main healthy distance. We also have classic jewel cases with insert booklet printing like the Haircuts for Men CD pictured above.

For a professional CD release just like the major label albums you find in stores, we recommend CD Replication. Unlike other manufacturers, we can press replicated CDs for short run releases as low as 100 copies. That way you can have the reliability and look of a professionally pressed album without needing to worry about unsold copies. We can print CD fold-out wallets with up to 6 panels, and Digipaks with up to 8 panels. That’s tons of room for artwork, liner notes, and whatever else you’d like to pack in your CD release.
