The joys of running a printing press come from the infinite creativity of designing album packaging. A few years back we introduced obi-strips for cassettes, and have since expanded them to all media formats!

Obi-Strips were traditionally used in Japanese album presses. They would include additional artwork and information, such as details about the album edition, pull quotes from critics, or pricing. Since then spotting an obi-strip in the wild has become a tell-tale sign that you’re holding a collector’s item.

Obi-strips are printed vertically or horizontally (AKA “bellyband” style) in full colour CMYK and on thick 15pt cardstock. They’re wider than their cassette counterpart, so more room for artwork and text! We size them specifically for your packaging style— jewelcases, wallets, and Digipak formats are available!
