First LEDs arrive in historic bundling investment

This month, LED street lights started to arrive in nine municipalities in Argentina, a result of a new bundling of investments in energy efficiency at local level throughout the country.

Showing concrete results in Argentina, a country currently experiencing a difficult financial environment, during a pandemic affecting financial possibilities worldwide, the bundling approach is proving to be an effective tool to leverage green investments.

University partnerships for sustainable energy use

UNEP DTU Partnership has entered into two new collaborations with universities in Latin America, cooperating on locally owned climate action initiatives. This is part of the partnership’s focus on a global exchange of knowledge, with an aim towards actively applying this shared knowledge in concrete projects.

Strategic sector collaboration with the Danish Energy Agency

Together with the Danish Energy Agency we are working on district energy solutions, building on Danish expertise and innovation as part of the Strategy Sector Collaboration Program.

Enhancing forest targets and measures in Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs)

Forests must play a crucial role if we are to keep average global temperature rise below 1.5°C.

However, despite the urgency of the climate crisis, the potential of forests to mitigate and adapt to climate change is largely untapped in current country Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

Taxonomy of Climate Change Adaptation Technology

UNEP DTU Partnership together with the Green Technology Center- Korea (GTC – K), a government-funded research institute under the Ministry of Science and ICT Korea, have collaborated on the development of a classification system for adaptation technologies in the context of the Technology Needs Assessment (TNA) project. The Growth of Small-Scale Irrigation in Kenya

Kenya has seen a growing market for small-scale irrigation technologies in recent years.

This report unfolds the strategies and capabilities of irrigation technology suppliers and their role in developing the small-scale irrigation market in Kenya.
