STAND UP!

It seems like everyday there is a story in the news, about another person of color, African American, Hispanic, Indigenous,
who has their rights trampled on by the police or other governmental authority.

We need to STAND UP!
Stand up against excessive use of force.
Stand up against racism.
We need to stand up and say that passing a bad $20 should not be a death penalty crime.

As a country, as a community of people, we need to change.
If the deaths that make the news teach us anything, it should be that these officers are not "just a few bad apples."
We need to address the systemic and societal factors that lend more value to some lives than to others.

We need to STAND UP! We Need to STAND TOGETHER!
STAND UP TOGETHER FOR CHANGE!
                                    - Liz Terwilliger

We need to have conversations within our communities to find solutions to barriers created by systemic racial and socio-economic biases.
We need to listen to one another and respect each others' perspective, even when it's hard.
We need to appreciate that those joining the conversation do so out of a sincere desire to see change in our communities.
We want discussion...and we want to move beyond talk, into action.
Would you like to join our community discussions?
