March 2018

We're Hiring!

The K-12 team is looking for two new, enthusiastic people who are passionate about science education and helping us cultivate our program! Could you be our new Teacher in Residence (full time 5 week summer position) or Business and Communications Specialist (full time regular position)?

Applications due March 31st.

Summer Educator Retreat

Looking for a chance to spread your wings this summer? Join us in sunny Ithaca for an educator retreat focused on citizen science, inquiry, and birds. You'll hear from lab experts, try hands-on STEM activities, conduct your own investigations, and explore local birding hot spots. You may even make some new friends (both feathered and not).

Year of the Bird: March

We share our world with an incredible variety of birds. March's Year of the Bird action is to make our own little corners of the world more bird friendly by planting native plants. See what's native to your area with Habitat Network.

March's Free Webinar

STEM isn’t just about robotics and coding. Learn how birds can engage students in STEM fields while giving them an appreciation for the natural world. Join us on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 @ 6:00pm ET or Thursday, March 22, 2018 @ 8:00pm ET.

Feathered Friends

Touch base with birds once a month with our free downloadable lessons, Feathered Friends. In March, students learn about flight and migration through a game that gets kids out of their seats and thinking like birds.

NSTA Nationals

We will be at NSTA Nationals in Atlanta and would love to see you! Stop by one of our sessions or visit us at booth 1002 for some great conversation and to get your free window bird feeder.
