Please be advised that a contractor for the Chicago Park District (SmithGroup / Women and Drones) will be using drone cameras to capture footage of the Lake Michigan shoreline in Streeterville on Monday, August 19th, from 12PM to 6PM. Aerial filming is a critical first step in evaluating erosion caused by this year’s high lake levels.
The drone footage is part of a broader effort by the Park District to develop a shoreline study for the entire 18-mile stretch of Chicago’s lakefront. The drones will only capture footage of the shoreline, and should not interfere with any of your daily activities.
