Hi Friend,
I wanted to share a story that really hit home for me as a parent.
Bethany*, a young mom, came to Children’s Home & Aid with a challenge many of us can relate to – she juggles working full-time with parenting full-time. To add to her challenges, Bethany’s daughter has special needs and Bethany doesn’t have local family to turn to for support. Our Early Learning Center in Palatine was there when Bethany needed somewhere to turn to for help.
Our staff quickly helped secure specialized equipment for her child and connected Bethany to a parent support group. They also helped enroll both mother and daughter in therapy sessions. Our teachers provided high-quality education and understood the unique needs of her child.
“We understand the struggles that parents are facing. It can be incredibly overwhelming to raise a child with special needs, especially when you have little to no support. We are proud to have been able to help this mother and her daughter, but we know there are many more families who need this kind of support.” ~Jen Ayala, Program Director
With help from our generous donors, Children’s Home & Aid is there when families need us. Our early childhood centers provide a “two-generation” approach, offering quality early education and care for children, while also supporting parents and helping find community resources that can strengthen the family.
We can’t do this work without your help! Thank you for your generosity and continued support.
With gratitude,
Emily Scoby,
Manager of Donor Relations
