Help us get The Chaser banned from Facebook
Dear Customer,
Here at NOB Bank, we like to fund fossil fuel projects, while running ads featuring puppy dogs and wind farms and yoga studios, that makes us look like a bunch of chai-latte-sipping inner-city greenies.
That's why, earlier in the week, we complained to Facebook about The Chaser's latest series of videos mocking our ads.
We don't have a problem with satire, per se. We love it when they do funny things with funny suits to under-paid receptionists.
Our problem is that The Chaser actually pointed out what our bank really does with all our money. Using facts and figures. When you're funding fossil fuel projects and trying to pretend you're not, that's a HUGE problem.
Luckily, we made up a bogus copyright claim against The Chaser, and managed to get Facebook to take down The Chaser's post launching the whole thing. And the great news is that if we win, The Chaser is facing a permanent ban from Facebook!
It's a weird thing to do, right? I mean, The Chaser were actually just point out what our bank actually does. But that's a terrible look for us. Our staff don't want to believe they're working for a bank that's killing the planet. And customers don't want to bank with one either.
That's why we don't want anyone to know that we put twice as much funding into fossil fuel projects as renewables.
The Chaser went a step too far. When you're pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into the largest coal port in the world and calling it a "sustainability loan" it's not like you want scrutiny!
If we can get rid of The Chaser for good, that would be a huge benefit to not just us but most of the big banks, corrupt politicians, coal ports and mining bosses in Australia. Blind trusts all round!
I mean, I've always known greenwashing was fun, but covering up stuff is EVEN MORE FUN!
I notice that the Chaser has doubled down and bought the domain NOBbank.com to permanently chronical our bank's funding of fossil fuel projects until we change our ways. Please don't visit it. It only encourages them.
