A response to recent complaints

Dear Reader,

In recent weeks, we've received several complaints that our satirical commentary is becoming too critical of those in power. Why not use our position to shine a light on the goodness woven into the moral fabric of the system?

With that in mind, we thought for the sake of balance, we should turn over today's Chaser Weakly to highlight some of the feel-good stories of the week, just for the sake of balance.

  • Our streets have never been safer ever since the NSW police started locking up comedians using laws originally intended to be used against political extremists. Safety first!
  • Australia's private schools are booming, especially amongst elite all-male schools, with at least one school worth over $500 million! Good times!
  • People worried that the Biloela family hasn't suffered enough already, can be reassured that their immigration status remains completely uncertain! Reassuring!
  • It only took seven editions of the National Covid plan to be published for the Federal Government to remember that they should probably include a plan for Aged Care. At least it wasn't eight!
  • National's MP are standing up against the "creeping language" behind the threat of Australia doing something about climate change. No goals by 2050!
  • The Federal Government prudently turned down priority delivery of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, and instead ordered tons of the much cheaper Astra Zeneca vaccine. What value!

And that's just this week! From now on, we commit to bringing you a more positive vibe in all our posts. We're going to eschew negativity and criticism of those in power. And you can rest assured, it's got nothing to do with comedy producer who got locked up. It's totally just a decision we've made because we think the existing system is great as it is.
