African leaders committed to overcome malnutrition and elevate nutrition as driver for economic growth and sustainable development. This initiative is championed by the African Development Bank and the African Union Commission.
Innovation with a Purpose report from the World Economic Forum highlights how technology innovation can accelerate transformation in food systems by making them more inclusive, sustainable, efficient, and their outputs more nutritious and healthy.

IDS Bulletin on Value Chains for Nutrition in South Asia presents the findings from four years of research under the Leveraging Agriculture for Nutrition in South Asia (LANSA) program. It provides evidence on what is working and what is not; gives policy recommendations for the role and use of market-based interventions for nutrition-related challenges; and suggests a new agenda for research.
 
A study from the Institute for Food, Nutrition, and Wellbeing in South Africa finds that involving men in maternal and child health is important for improved nutrition outcomes and can be facilitated by factors such as recognition by men of the impact of their involvement, pride, advocacy, incentives and disincentives, and male champions.
IFPRI’s refreshed strategy centers on a food systems approach to research that drives the Institute’s efforts to sustainably feed the world and contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
 
The African Union recently launched the first-ever African Agricultural Transformation Scorecard. The scorecard is an innovative tool that tracks the agriculture sector progress of African countries toward achieving the seven broad commitments of the 2014 Malabo Declaration.
 
Justin Yifu Lin, Dean of the Institute of New Structural Economics at Peking University and member of the Compact2025 Leadership Council, explains in a recent blog post why agriculture is key for economic transformation, food security, and nutrition.
