Recognizing the critical role of knowledge and innovation to rapidly end hunger, undernutrition, and poverty, IFPRI and Bangladesh signed an agreement on October 4 to create a Knowledge and Innovation Hub in Bangladesh.
 
Rabobank and UN Environment have created a US$1 billion facility to finance sustainable agriculture through public and private funding to feed the growing global population.
The 2017 Global Hunger Index (GHI) finds that despite long-term progress in reducing hunger in the world, 52 of 106 countries for which data are available face serious to extremely alarming levels of hunger.

The Italian Ministry of Health and the City of Milan will host The Global Nutrition Summit 2017: Milan, Italy. The 2017 Global Nutrition Report will also be launched at this high-level event on November 4.
 
On November 13, Action Against Hunger will host its Research for Nutrition Conference in Paris, France, with a focus on operational challenges and uptake in prevention and treatment of undernutrition.
