The 21st International Congress of Nutrition: From Sciences to Nutrition Security will take place October 15–20 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Sessions will highlight issues including biofortification, using implementation research to improve multisectoral programs, and scaling up nutrition-sensitive agricultural innovations.
 
On October 16, World Food Day 2017 will bring attention to the role that investments in food security and rural development can play in changing the future of migration. Pope Francis and Ministers of Agriculture attending the Group of Seven (G7) meetings will join the FAO Director General to mark the day with an official ceremony.
 
A joint FAO/WHO regional symposium on Sustainable Food Systems for Healthy Diets and Improved Nutrition is scheduled to take place October 30–31 in Abidjan Cote d’Ivoire.
