A new Global Action Programme developed by UN agencies will help small island developing states address pressing challenges related to food security, nutrition, and the impacts of climate change.
The SDG Index and Dashboards Report 2017, published by Bertelsmann Stiftung and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, provides a report card on where 157 countries stand with regards to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

A Nigerian input subsidy program using e-vouchers improves productivity and welfare outcomes of smallholders but could maximize its contribution to food security by targeting the most disadvantaged groups, finds a study published in World Development.
An IFPRI policy roundtable on “Tackling Famine in the Twenty-First Century” explored how on-the-ground responses to famine are working and what evidence is needed to improve them. A policy brief released alongside the event presents lessons for building resilient food systems to prevent future famines.

The summary of a recent meeting organized by Dutch stakeholders on “Transforming Food Systems for Improved Nutrition – How can a food systems approach improve the quality of diets in Africa?” is now available.

The Center for Strategic and International Studies will launch a new report on July 26: “What can the United States learn from the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) movement? Examining country leadership in Zambia, Kenya, and Bangladesh.” The event will be webcast live.

The Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network (FANRPAN) will host a webinar on August 24 to share the baseline findings of its Agriculture to Nutrition project with agriculture-nutrition practitioners.
