The National Nutrition Council of the Philippines launched the country’s Plan of Action for Nutrition 2017-2022 in May.

The government of the Gambia launched an $11.4 million nutrition project aiming to improve food security and reduce stunting among vulnerable children.
UNICEF, WHO, and the World Bank have released the 2017 joint estimates for child malnutrition including an interactive dashboard. Malnutrition rates remain alarming, stunting is declining too slowly while overweight continues to rise, and Africa and Asia bear the greatest share of all forms of malnutrition.

The first two episodes explore how the consumption of insects has the potential to solve global malnutrition and how to create opportunities for women and girls in agriculture through education.

The next webinar hosted by the Policies, Institutions, and Markets CGIAR Research Program on June 28 will explore what levels and composition of investment best serve global objectives of poverty reduction, improved nutrition, and sustainable resource management.

“Food can fix it”: The EAT Stockholm Food Forum 2017 held June 12 – 13 focused on how transformations in the food system can solve climate, sustainability, and health challenges.
