We are happy to announce a new monthly political economics webinar series that will start on May 6th, 2020.  The idea is to have a Political Economy webinar that is open to all those interested, including faculty and graduate students.

The CEPR Political Economics Webinar series will be held on the first Wednesday of every month at 15:00 London time.
The first CEPR Political Economics Webinar will take place on the 6th of May, with Daron Acemoglu as our inaugural speaker, presenting his paper "War, Socialism and the Rise of Fascism in Italy: An Empirical Exploration” (co-authored with Giuseppe De Feo and Giacomo De Luca). The abstract is available here for download.

This will be followed by Guido Tabellini on the 3rd of June, and Eliana La Ferrara on the 1st of July.

The format of the webinars will be as follows: the speaker will have 60 minutes to present their research. During those 60 minutes, questions will be limited to clarifying questions. After that, there will be 15 minutes for general questions and discussions.

This series of webinars is organised by the CEPR Political Economy Group together with the Research and Policy Network on Populism and Research and Policy Network on Conflict.

Feel free to forward this email to people at your institution who may be interested, including graduate students.
