Here's why I love initiatives and why I love the Term Limits on Taxes Initiative (join our new FB group: #Round2)

Over $43.03 billion in tax savings so far!
We’re fighting for taxpayers!

Olympia really screwed us this year.

11 new taxes.

$27 billion.

$4000 for every man, woman, and child.

Title-only bills, public hearings w/ chained doors, legislators voting on bills they hadn't read while passing them in the dead of night on the final weekend.

It was obscene. It was corruption. It's completely unacceptable.

What's the most effective way to fight back?

With the initiative process.

I love initiatives because they empower the people. And our initiatives play a particularly important role because we focus our efforts on limiting governments' taxing power. It's why your vehicle tabs are lower, your property taxes are capped, governments get performance audited, tax hikes were required to get 2/3 legislative approval, legislature-passed tax increases are subject to tax advisory votes, and the Legislature has a tougher time raising taxes.

It's why taxpayers have saved $43 billion directly and billions more indirectly (

I AM COMMITTED (OR MAYBE MORE ACCURATELY: I SHOULD BE COMMITTED)

A little over a year ago, Karen and I sold off our family's retirement fund and loaned $500,000 to kick-start the signature drive for our $30 Tabs Initiative (http://www.timdefense.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Hyperlink-story.pdf). It was a huge risk, but we had faith:

* Faith there were supporters who'd donate and collect signatures.
* Faith there were voters eager to sign petitions.

Our faith was rewarded. Hundreds of thousands of supporters and voters helped us so that in January, we turned in 320K+ signatures to qualify our $30 Tabs Initiat
ive for this November's ballot:

I have that same faith in #Round2.

For 6 years, I've been working with brilliant people drafting, refining, and perfecting the Term Limits on Taxes Initiative.

It is modeled on a law the Legislature passed in 2013 that put automatic expiration dates on tax preferences. Our initiative does the same thing but for tax increases.

A law passed by initiative is the same as a law passed by the Legislature. Since there's already a legislative law expiring tax legislation, then an initiative law can also expire tax legislation. Their law put a term limit on tax preferences, our initiative puts a term limit on tax increases.

A few weeks after the Democrats went bonkers raising taxes in the final weekend of session, the signature drive for I-1648 was launched. We all worked really hard but we fell short because the clock ran out. Voters embraced the initiative's policy, we just didn't have enough time.

So now we're doing #Round2. And our team's track record of success makes us a tremendous threat to Olympia's taxing power. So ...

                   WHEN YOU'RE OVER THE TARGET,
                      YOU'RE GONNA BE ATTACKED

The text for the new initiative (I-1082) has been tightened up and improved but the policy is the same: expire 11 new taxes costing $27 billion and expire future new taxes after one year (unless voter approved). I've dedicated my adult-life to working with thousands of heroic people drafting, refining, perfecting, qualifying, and passing initiatives. #Round2 is rock solid.

Olympia screwed us and we can't let them get away with it.

I-1082 offers us the chance to overturn this year's tax insanity and put those dirty dog politicians on a short leash. With your help and your support over the next 6 months, I know we can qualify #Round2

                              GET A BUNCH OF PETITIONS
                                    AND DIVE RIGHT IN

The new petition for I-1082 is now available at our website: https://permanentoffense.com/petition-download/ and at #Round2, our new Facebook group: www.facebook.com/groups/2411449699098398/

Print up a ton of petitions and distribute them far and wide. It's best if you download and print the petitions locally without my involvement (I'm still scrambling to catch up with last week's avalanche of petition requests!).

But hey, if you need help, it's easy: just tell me how many petition sheets you want and where you live: 30tabs@gmail.com or GiveThemNothing.com and I'll get ya taken care of.
Please push and promote getting signatures at summer events.

#Round2 is a community of heroic citizens who are committed to letting the voters vote on Initiative 1082 (Term Limits on Taxes, Round 2). Invite your friends to join. Print and distribute petitions. Sign a petition. Collect sigs. Find and post signing locations. Founding admin George T. Penn is doing an extraordinary job putting this together. We want the biggest team possible because: Many Hands Make Light Work.

HELP FUND OUR SIGNATURE DRIVE SO
                           VOTERS CAN VOTE ON #Round2

Last year, Karen and I sold off our family's retirement fund and loaned $500,000 to kick-start the signature drive for our $30 Tabs Initiative. It qualified. But sorry, we don't have a second retirement fund for #Round2. 😊

Financial support is critical to making this effort a success.

To contribute, do it online: https://permanentoffense.com/donate/ or mail-in your donation: https://tinyurl.com/Mail-in-donation-form

Thank you so much for supporting this critical effort.  With your help, I know we can make it this time.

I have faith. I have hope. How 'bout you?

I love you all.

Here's the reason we've been so successful over the years: persistence.

We never give up.

We keep fighting until we prevail. But we can't do it alone. We need everyone's help.

P.S. There are thousands of politicians, bureaucrats, lobbyists, and special interest groups working each and every day to raise your taxes. Shouldn't there be at least one person, one team, one organization that fights to lower your taxes? Please help us so we can continue our successful efforts on behalf of taxpayers.
