ECLAC seeks:
  • Chief (D1) - Division of Statistics and Economics Projections 
  • Chief (D1) - Division of International Trade and Integration 
  • Economic Affairs Officer (P4) - Sustainable Development and Human Settlements Division.
  • Formulate and implement the substantive programme of work of the Division under supervision

Education: 
  • Advanced degree in statistics, economics, mathematics, social sciences or related area is required
Work Experience:
  • At least 15 years of progressively responsible experience in statistics, economic or social research, programme and project planning and analysis

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in economics, social sciences, public administration or related area is required.
Work Experience:
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience dealing with international trade, integration or infrastructure, five of which must be in Latin America and the Caribbean region is required.

  • Lead the division’s work on sustainable urban development and contribute to formulate strategic areas of focus, both within the context of the Human Settlements Unit’s programme of work and cross-divisional projects on urban issues.

  • A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in economic research and analysis, policy formulation, application of economic principles in development programmes or related area is required.

It was founded with the purpose of contributing to the economic development of Latin America, coordinating actions directed towards this end, and reinforcing economic ties among countries and with other nations of the world. The promotion of the region's social development was later included among its primary objectives.
