ACTION NEEDED: Contact your  Assembly Member today!

TOMORROW, April 22, the California Assembly will vote on the Bicycle Safety Stop bill, which will allow people on bikes to treat stop signs as yields.

This bill is opposed by powerful interests, including the California State Automobile Association.  Don't let the opponents of bicycle safety win.

Click the proper link below to contact your Assembly Member. (If you aren't sure which district you're in, go here to find out.)

In the comments section, please say "Please vote Yes on AB 122, the Bicycle Safety Stop Bill." That's all you have to do to make a difference.

But you might want to add some comments. Here are some suggestions:

  • The safety stop is proven to increase safety for people on bikes.
  • The safety stop is legal in several other states, including Oregon and Washington.
  • This bill legalizes commonsense bike riding and removes a pretext for police to harass Black and Brown Californians.

It's safe. It's smart. It's commonsense.  Tell your Assembly Member to vote YES on the Bicycle Safety Stop Bill.
