RING IN THE NEW YEAR SUPPORTING WHAT YOU LOVE

Dear Members,

As we begin to wrap up the holiday season and transition into a new year ahead, I would like to take a moment to personally thank you for your continued support

This time of year, we’re all bombarded with donation requests from a myriad of worthy causes. So, why should you support SCBC?

WE’RE LOCAL. A significant body of research indicates that money spent locally circulates twice as much within the local economy. We live, ride, and work in Sonoma County and focus our efforts on local infrastructure and policy.

NO ONE ELSE DOES WHAT WE DO. SCBC is the ONLY organization whose mission is to make Sonoma County the best place to ride a bike through advocacy and education – for locals and tourists, kids and adults, those who use their bikes for everyday transportation, and recreational riders.

WE’RE IN IT FOR THE LONG HAUL. Transportation projects and policies are by nature long-term endeavors. We work strategically, building relationships with elected officials and agency staff that help us influence decisions that will affect our community for years to come.

WE WALK OUR TALK. The majority of our staff & board members cycle to work and ride with our families for both transportation and fun. Our board members are significant donors and donate dozens of hours of their time. Our staff members often donate their own resources and time as well!

DIRECT ACTION FOR A HEALTHIER PLANET.  Transportation is the second-largest source of greenhouse gas emissions.  Getting more people out of their cars and onto a bike is not only good for the planet, it’s good for our health and good for our soul!

With your help, we will continue to fight for the needs of cyclists - whether 8 or 80+ years old - so that more adults and children can discover the freedom and simple pleasures of riding a bike.

With utmost appreciation,

Alisha O'Loughlin, Executive Director
