Out with the Old, In with the New!

I don't know about you, Friend, but for us 2020 was a challenge and we're looking forward to 2021! We'll be kicking off our twentieth anniversary year with a virtual member meeting and Board candidate town hall. Our records indicate that you are NOT a current member; won't you consider joining today and participating in our members-only events?

We continue to improve and increase our virtual education offerings, and Bike Month (formerly Bike to WORK Month) continues to evolve. We are in discussions with the city of Petaluma for a possible Ciclovia event in the fall, and Sonoma Clean Power for the promotion of an electric bike incentive program. We hope to have SOME sort of anniversary celebration, as the pandemic allows. We're putting together an advocacy committee with subgroups around the county , to help us do this important work more effectively.  Contact Cherie to volunteer with one of our events, and Eris for advocacy.

Upcoming Public Meetings

These are a great place to find out what's happening with local bike policies and projects, and to share your thoughts and concerns. All are conducted online.

Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) has invited us to a Listening Session regarding the bicycle-pedestrian pathway.  It will be conducted on Zoom from 5:00 to 6:30 pm on Wednesday, December 16th. Register here to get the Zoom login info.

The March 2020 defeat of their sales tax renewal has spurred the SMART Board to increase and improve their outreach to the community, and they have held several of these sessions in several cities in their service area. This is the first one to be held about a specific theme or user group. The purpose of the session is for them to LISTEN to our needs, wishes, and concerns to aid in their future planning. We have attended one of the other sessions and were pleased with how it was facilitated, so we are looking forward to this one!
