Rep. Stovall secured $5,895 for
3 Clayton County Schools
(Morrow ES, Lake City ES, Forest Park MS)
IUPAT DC-77 (International Union of Painters & Allied Trades) chose Forest Park Middle School as their 2019 Day of Action site. It was held on Saturday, May 4th. Their members and community volunteers beautified the courtyard area along with other parts of the school.
IUPAT DC-77 also donated $1,965 each for Morrow Elementary, Lake City Elementary, and Forest Park Middle to create a Helping Hands Ending Hunger program. This program provides supplemental meals to students
during the weekend.
“The Clayton County community is grateful that IUPAT-DC77 chose these schools in
their annual service initiative,” said Rep. Stovall. “Their donations, which total $5,895, will go a long way in assisting children who need meals during the weekend. We are looking forward to
the potential partnership with Clayton County Public Schools to create an apprenticeship for youth in the painting trade. I look forward to seeing the economic impact students graduating
with a trade and earning livable wages could have on our local economy.”
“District Council 77 and the IUPAT is here to bridge the gap between the community,
labor and management,” said a representative of the IUPAT.
