In a
Brandon Birthday treat for all of us, we got a taste for startup life on the other side of the world at
Kiwi Pitch Night.
Perhaps we can make more NZ friends with
Casey's
networking platform focused on the 1:1 meetings that are key to relationship building but so hard to recreate virtually.
Or maybe we can make use of
Dan's Deep Social Network app that looks at social media as an opportunity to build deep, personal and supportive connections with peers from across the globe. He’s living up to his local moniker, ‘Mentor to the New Zealand Startup Community.’
And best of all, we should all take a TNT global trip to Tauranga one day and run an investment summit with
Pascale and her team at the
Venture Centre, where the focus is on building people. A message we can all relate to.
Finally, our
Edmonton Chief Organizer Brandon shared his story from Edmonton to New Zealand and back again.
Congrats to Ruth!
The team from Ruth, who is celebrating their successful
Kickstarter campaign, joined us at the happy hour to let us know they've
now reached over 100% of their goal in the first 48 hours. Help them
reach 200% this week!
They are also featured in today's
Edmonton Journal
Emily CraveTV stopped by and shared an update on the Startup Origin Stories project she is working on with
a grant from the ERIN – we can expect to experience the first Startup Walking Tour through Old Strathcona by the end of July!
Yasmine shared how much she is enjoying life as an analyst at Alberta’s
leading seed-stage investment fund (and TNT sponsor! thanks
Arden and
Dave for the love!)
Emily M has a new job at TNT Summit finalist
Quote to Me!
Noel and
Neil are wondering how we’ll stay connected if we’re back in person next week – Join us in YEG for our
Canada Day Party at Hawrelak Park.
Then maybe we should use Casey's networking app to keep our community Alberta Wide. We can even invite all our new friends from SK
UP Conference Success!
Congrats Matt and Graeme and the entire
Co.Labs team for another awesome UP conference.
They organized 240 curated 1:1 meetings
for prairie startups to build relationships with investors bullish on Western Canada. Of the 81 companies accepted, 23 are alumni of a TNT summit!
Some heavy hitters came in for their panels and keynotes, as well.
