This week at the 2024 Georgia Governor’s Tourism Conference in Atlanta, Governor Kemp announced that the state broke tourism records for the second year in a row and maintained its No. 5 market share ranking among all 50 states and Washington, D.C., for the fourth consecutive year in 2023.

2023 Georgia tourism highlights:
- 171.2 million domestic and international visitors, the largest number ever
- $43.6 billion in visitor spending, surpassing 2022 by nearly $4 billion
- $79.7 billion in total economic impact, a 9.1% year-over-year increase
- $5 billion in state and local tax revenues generated, a $300 million or 7.2% increase over 2022
- 463,483 jobs supported, more than 20,000 compared to 2022
- No. 5 market share ranking for domestic overnight visitation among all 50 states and Washington, D.C., for the fourth year in a row
