Say hello to SALT and PEPPER!

Last week the Bela team were once again at Superbooth in Berlin, one of Europe's hottest synth events. 

As well as talking to synth creators, learning about things they're building, giving workshops and showcasing Bela, we also launched two products. One is a relaunch of SALT (the module we produced in a limited number last summer that you'll be glad to know is available again), and the other is PEPPER, a PCB for hardware hackers which is a low-cost way to start prototyping with modular synths and Bela. 

SALT:
Our programmable module is back!

SALT is whatever you want it to be: a sequencer, a waveshaper, a drum machine, or something completely different. Program it, customise it, adjust to taste. It comes assembled and ready to go, with a Bela unit, faceplate, 2 AC-coupled audio in, 2 DC-coupled audio out, 2 trigger I/O, and 4 CV I/O with offset pots. Hungry for more? SALT debuted at Superbooth 2018 in a limited edition of 30 and sold out immediately. We've done some small revisions and are offering SALT (£395) and SALT+ (£175) for purchase again via preorder.

PEPPER:
Spice up your setup!
PEPPER is a DIY and low-cost way to start prototyping with Bela and modular synths.

Designed with the hands-on hardware enthusiast in mind, PEPPER is a custom-designed, bare PCB. It comes with a list of common through-hole components for you to get and instructions on how to solder it together (it needs about £30 worth of parts depending on your supplier, but you might already have some of them). Put it together, connect your Bela unit, and you're ready to start experimenting with what Bela can do as part of your modular set up.
