The CIVICUS alliance sees the diversity and inclusion journey as one that civil society must embark on as a collective. Organisations may be at different stages of this fluid journey but we must encourage each other to push forward and engage in dynamic accountability. This area of focus is forever expanding so there is no endpoint that we are striving for, but instead, we must ensure that we go beyond surface-level commitments to tackle institutional structures from all perspectives.

The weaponisation of information disorder


Governments are able to claim they are fighting against the rise in the sharing and spreading of misinformation. What is actually spurring them is their fear of criticism, which is translating into legislation that shuts down critical voices, especially those of journalists wanting to hold power to account.

Open online courses in English

United Nations Institute for Training and Research has just launched its “Wellbeing for Peace” series, a host of online and face to face offerings to enable change agents to increase their inner wellbeing so that they are able to contribute to a better and more peaceful world. Two online courses – “Understanding and Transforming Stress” and “The Inside Job of Collaboration” – are free of charge and open to everyone.

Apply for youth mobility funding


Organisations working with young people outside the formal education sector can apply to the youth strand of Erasmus+. Funds are given to support an activity called Learning Mobility which is a planned learning activity in another country. The deadline for Youth Mobility Funding is 5 February 2020 at 11am, UK time. The application web form is now live online along with the KA105 guide for applicants.
