6 categories of non-traditional assistance for Startups


An initiative by SLUDTERA, where Individuals and organizations will invest in startup entrepreneurs (numbers 1, 2 and 3) and where communities of Startups who will invest in each other (numbers 4, 5 and 6), who will make an impact on the local community - creating conditions for increased stability, security, and prosperity for all on the island. Eligible startups are those in the Education, Retail, Technology, Manufacturing, Medical, Commercial, Services & Creative fields.

Investment Grant

This is achieved through the annual Startup Ste. Lucie Annual Competition. Startup Ste. Lucie searches for innovative technologies, products, or services, wrapped within scalable for-profit business models with the potential to make a national or international impact..

Loan

For innovative technologies, products, or services, wrapped within scalable for-profit business models with the potential to make a national impact who are in need of Startup Capital at the minimum level to get their business moving e.g. Business registration fees, license fees, enrollment in Entrepreneurial courses, etc.

Scholarship

For young Entrepreneurs who meet the following basic criteria in addition to those set up by the Scholarship providers;
  • Must be age 18 years or older.
  • Must have been in business 1-3 years.
  • Must have already sold products and services to people but have a strong desire to grow.
  • Is very passionate, committed and follows through on taking action to make their goals happen.
  • Is ambitious with big goals and desires.

Business Shower

Twice a year, among a gathering of local Entrepreneurs who are all about supporting one another, will throw a business shower for each other to ensure that they have what they need to start or improve their business. Some business shower gifts could be material, equipment, supplies, venue, etc. Introduced by SLUDTERA member Mylica Amedee.

Business Sou Sou

This initiative is based on the premise that collective dollars create economical opportunities. Like-minded goal lending members work together with equal investment on a monthly basis, to empower each other to achieve their financial goals.

The goal of this initiative is to source, connect and empower at least 40 local startups including women in St. Lucia by 2025, to fulfill their economic potential. In doing so, they will create conditions for increased stability, security, and prosperity for all on the island. You can be a driving force behind this goal and act as a catalyst. With our first Contributor, SLUDTERA officially launched the IIAE initiative. Ms. Hanna Fitz, founder of hannafitz.com, who is an International Brand Atelier, Business Coach and Author, provided a scholarship to one of our female startup Entrepreneurs to the Global Brand Creation Academy. This is the very first scholarship opportunity ever given by Hanna Fitz since the launch of her Global Brand Creation Academy. Founder & President of SLUDTERA Ms. Michelle N. Samuel, is elated to have been contacted by Hanna to bestow this scholarship!

The female recipient of the scholarship began classes in November 2019 and will graduate in approximately 12 weeks with the tools necessary to build her World Class Brand!
