Suspect:

Kaabee Eduardo David Crowder, American Indian/Alaskan Native male, 33-years-old
On October 18th, 2022, the Austin Police Department's Violent Crimes Task Force arrested Kaabee Eduardo David Crowder in connection to four aggravated assault crimes between August and September. Crowder was taken to jail, and a .40 caliber pistol used in all the crimes was recovered from his residence. Detectives filed warrants charging Crowder with four counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon – 2nd Degree Felony. Here's a timeline of events;
On August 30th, 2022, at approximately 6:15 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a shooting at the Park West Inn at 2607 S IH-35 SVRD. When officers arrived, a witness told them that Crowder was rummaging through the bed of a pickup truck. When he noticed someone watching him, he drove off while firing several rounds. The gunshots injured no one.
On September 1st, 2022, APD officers responded to a shooting at a 7-Eleven Convenience Store at 6515 S IH-35 SVRD. The victim, in this case, was walking through the parking lot and was approached by Crowder. The victim told officers Crowder pulled out a handgun from his waistband and began shooting in his direction. The victim was not injured.
On September 2nd, 2022, APD officers responded to a shooting at the intersection of S Congress Ave and Eberhart Ln. In this incident, the victim's vehicle broke down. The victim noticed Crowder also standing near the vehicle. Crowder fired several gunshots, shot the victim in both legs. Officers arrived on the scene and applied tourniquets to the victim's legs. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital.
On September, 14th, 2022, APD officers responded to another shooting at a 7-Eleven Convenience Store located at 201 W Ben White Blvd. In this incident, two victims were inside a stopped vehicle at the intersection of William Cannon Drive and Bluff Springs Road when Crowder approached the vehicle and fired several rounds, hitting both victims. The victims were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

In all four incidents, the general suspect description appeared to be consistent. The .40 caliber cases recovered at the scene were entered into the National Integrated Ballistics Network, which presumptively linked the four shootings.
