Mass Graves
According to the Associated Press, five mass graves containing Rohingya Muslims were uncovered in Gu Dar Pyin, Myanmar. In a report conducted by the news agency, eyewitness accounts from more than two dozen survivors were complied detailing the brutal military crackdown in the region. The discovery of the graves is being used as evidence to bolster charges leveled by the U.S. and United Nations of ethnic cleansing in the country. The Myanmar government has previously admitted responsibility for one mass grave found in another village. As of August 2017, more than 655,000 Rohingya have fled the country to neighboring Bangladesh.
