Welcome to the March 2019 edition of Sajid Javid MP's newsletter
WELCOME

I'm very excited to announce that my fifth Annual Bromsgrove Jobs Fair will be back on 26th April. I'm delighted to announce that Grimes Finishings is generously sponsoring the fair, so a big thanks to Richard Grimes and his team for their continued commitment to our Bromsgrove community.

I’m determined to ensure that my constituency is given even more opportunities to flourish – that’s why the Jobs Fair is one of the highlights of my year. As ever, it's free to exhibit and attend so if you're interested in exhibiting, please get in touch.

It's been a busy month in the constituency; I've held a number of street surgeries and I would like to give a big thanks to everyone who came along.  If you missed me, please remember that I’m always here if you need my help. You can get in touch with my office via sajid.javid.mp@parliament.uk

Best wishes,

Sajid Javid
Member of Parliament for Bromsgrove
RECENT ACTIVITY
It's always great to support Primrose Hospice, and I was honoured to be asked to become a patron by Primrose’s Chair of Trustees, Rod Laight.

Primrose Hospice makes a huge difference to people in Bromsgrove. Sadly, many of the people who  have benefited from Primrose are going through the darker moments of their lives, but Primrose helps to bring in some sunlight.

The charity needs to raise £1.75 million each year to keep its services free to patients and family members so it is vital that as members of the community, we continue to do all we can to support this amazing charity.

I spent a valuable morning in Birmingham focusing on how our National County Lines Coordination Centre is doing all it can to combat drug gangs.

We owe it to our young people and our communities to get this right.

Thank you to all residents that stopped for a chat on sunny Bromsgrove High Street recently during my MP Street Surgery.

I look forward to seeing more of you at the next one.
Well done to all the teams that took part in my annual Bromsgrove Schools Debating Competition and a huge congratulations to the winning team from Haybridge High School.

The final was close, but Haybridge had a well deserved win, with Rahul and Ben from Haybridge High School just edging out Luke and Molly from North Bromsgrove High. They debated the motion: ‘This house believes voting in elections should be weighted, based on age’.

This is the ninth time that I've held the debating competition and I was so incredibly impressed by the quality of teams; everyone did so well.

I look forward to taking Rahul and Ben out for lunch in Parliament to help them celebrate.

I spent valuable time with West Midlands Police to discuss the tireless work that our hardworking police force is doing to combat knife crime and to get knives off streets across our region.

I’m committed to doing all I can to help police crackdown on serious violence.

It's always so much fun to chat to the pupils at Lickey Hills Primary.

The pupils had prepared lots of great questions on democracy; they certainly kept me on my toes!

Until next time, Lickey Hills!
I had yet another brilliant Q&A session on democracy with pupils at Millfields First School.

We must do all we can to inspire our younger generation. Thanks for having me!
