This week, the House of Representatives will vote to impeach Department of Homeland Security Secretary (DHS) Alejandro Mayorkas. The Mayorkas impeachment vote is the first step towards holding the Biden Administration accountable for the border crisis!
The impeachment articles to be voted on by the House focus on Mayorkas’ willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law and his breach of the public trust. The articles are the product of a thorough, year-long investigation from the House Homeland Security Committee.
Article I details seven provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act that Mayorkas has violated. His utter contempt and disregard for the law has resulted in record illegal border crossings, the creation of massive, illegal parole programs, and the implementation of catch-and-release for illegal aliens instead of detention as required under law. Article II lists the numerous times Mayorkas has lied to Congress and the American people and obstructed congressional oversight to hide the results of his disastrous policies.
Despite claims to the contrary, the articles of impeachment against Mayorkas go far deeper than policy differences. Secretary Mayorkas has knowingly and willfully violated our immigration laws, undermining our public safety and threatening our national security. The consequences of the Secretary’s disregard for the law have been catastrophic!!
