Where do Cobb County Candidates for Sheriff Stand on Policing and Immigration Enforcement?

On May 19th residents of Cobb County in Georgia will get a chance to vote for a candidate for Sheriff. Because the Sheriff has power over jails and can choose whether to work with immigration enforcement, the lives of our communities are deeply impacted by the views of whoever is in that seat. For example, the 287g program has deported and separated many of our community members. It is time we put a stop to the criminalization of our people.

What is the 287(g) program?
Join us for a digital town hall hosted by GLAHR, MIJENTE, and SONG to hear what the candidates for Cobb County Sheriff responded and discuss how their positions can impact our lives.
