It is with great pleasure that we invite RoboCuppers and the entire RoboCup Community to Sydney, Australia for RoboCup 2019. The Sydney Organising Committee are excited that the RoboCup baton has now been handed over from the Montreal Organising Committee. RoboCup 2019 will be held from Tuesday 2–Monday 8 July 2019 at the International Convention Centre, Sydney. Please mark your diary and save the dates in your calendar, to participate and experience our unique Australian hospitality. Your journey to Australia will be more than worthwhile. |

Important Dates for RoboCup 2019
|

SydneySydney, Australia, is one of the world’s most picturesque cities. Surrounded by a majestic Harbour and scattered with beaches, national parks and green areas, this is a city that entices you to explore. Take a ferry and see Sydney Harbour from the water, lose yourself in the cobbled streets of the historic Rocks district and learn about the area’s rich heritage at one of the city’s fantastic cultural institutions. RoboCup 2019 will be held at the International Convention Centre in Darling Harbour, Australia’s premier integrated convention, exhibition and entertainment precinct. The venue is centrally located and easily accessible by ferry and bus services, and only a ten minute walk from major city train stations. |

ParticipationThere are three ways to participate in RoboCup 2019:
Major League teams must successfully pass a league specific qualification process. For more information please check the Major league websites. Junior league teams must qualify through regional competitions. The qualification process is handled by the Junior national or regional representatives. For more information please visit the Junior league websites. The call for participation for the leagues will be published in the leagues’ mailing lists. Any questions about qualification should be directed to the respective league’s technical committee members and/or league’s mailing list. |

Robot Photo CompetitionIn the lead up to RoboCup 2019 the Organising Committee and its Ambassadors will be showcasing iconic Sydney Locations with our NAO mascot. We would love to see your Robot in your iconic city location. Email a photo of your Robot in your home city to robotcompetition@robocup2019.com.au and go into the draw to win six night's accommodation at a prime RoboCup 2019 hotel. Total prize value $3,000. To enter simply photograph your robot in a fun, creative or exotic/interesting location with the attached “See you in Sydney” flyer and email it together with the following details by 30 April 2019.

AccommodationThe RoboCup 2019 Secretariat has confirmed rooms at a selection of Sydney hotels and apartments for the benefit of participants. The hotels and apartments have been selected for their proximity to the ICC Sydney (International Convention centre) However, each venue has a benefit in providing you with a broad selection and choice to suit your accommodation needs whilst in Sydney. You are encouraged to secure your accommodation through the Secretariat to ensure that you receive the negotiated competitive rates. Accommodation can be booked via the registration form or by contacting the Secretariat. Rates quoted are:

Visa InformationAustralia is a great place to visit but whether you are here for just the Event or you decide to stay for a holiday, you must have a valid Australian visa. The Australian Border Force website is provided to assist our participants with visa applications located at the Department of Home Affairs. Visa applications can be found in the section “Individuals and Travellers” on the Home Affairs website. We strongly encourage and recommend that you visit the Australian Boarder Force website for the latest and most comprehensive information.
