As you know, Portugal has been represented since the 1930’s in the World Energy Council and the organisation of international events is not new to us. Last year, APE successfully hosted the World Energy Week / Executive Assembly, and we believe it is now the right time to host the 25th World Energy Congress

Lisbon, the proposed city to host this global event, influenced by the Atlantic Ocean, with a pleasant climate throughout the year, is now listed among Europe's most asked Conference & Event destinations. It offers an exceptional range of meeting facilities, entertainment, shopping, restaurants and excursion opportunities.

With its welcoming people and its multicultural tradition, Portugal has a long-standing history of international openness. In recent years the country has been chosen by innovators, artists, entrepreneurs and multinational companies to be the host of some of the world's most important events, such as Expo 98, Euro 2004, UEFA Champions 2014, Web Summit 2017 and 2018, Eurovision Song Contest 2018, among many others.

Lisbon is undoubtedly one of the most economic destinations in the world with outstanding facilities and professionals that can easily meet the need for a safe and successful organization of the 25th World Energy Congress.

At the end of 2017, Portugal was elected World´s Leading Destination at the World Travel Awards. We couldn´t think of a better reason to invite you to visit our country, our culture, and see with your own eyes why Portugal should host the nex World Energy Congress.
