Here at Austin Bat Refuge, we are grateful for so much.
We are thankful for you, our friends and supporters, who make it possible for us to help Austin’s bats when they get in trouble. We are thankful every time people like you find an injured bat and call us so we can help it heal. Every time you correct one of your friends when they repeat a popular (but false) bat myth, you make our community safer for bats. Every time you donate money or items on our wishlist, you make it possible for us to continue our life-saving work. We are thankful for every supportive comment you make on our social media posts, letting us know that you value our work.
We are thankful for the bats, for the vital role they play in our ecosystems. Bats save our farmers billions of dollars by eating the moths and beetles that destroy crops. Bats disperse seeds, helping tropical forests regenerate. Bats pollinate many of our favorite plants, such as mangoes, figs, and bananas. Bats even pollinate the agave used for making tequila.
During this season of gratitude and giving, we hope you will keep Austin Bat Refuge (and the bats whose lives we are saving every day) in your minds and your hearts. Please consider donating to Austin Bat Refuge for GivingTuesday.
Donations made starting today will count towards our goal of $17,500. Funds we raise for GivingTuesday provide critical support for the bats in our care, including purchasing medicine, food, shelter, and more.
We are also thankful for our partners like Tito’s Handmade Vodka, who is providing a match to support our GivingTuesday goal. Donate now to double the value of your gift. The first $2,000 donated will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, by Tito’s.
