PWPSD Supe rintendent Bob Stewart expressed gratitude for the assistance the Salvation Army Student Nutrition Program is providing to PWPSD families during the COVID-19 pandemic. This month, school Principals facilitated a nomination process in their communities that will see grocery gift cards distributed to families in need. Central Office staff are currently compiling the list of names to forward to the Salvation Army.
In April, the Salvation Army in Grande Prairie was one of nine non-profits chosen to receive nutrition assistance program grants from the province.
Families who registered through their school will receive $100 per child during the months of June and September. The per child amount will increase to $200 in July and August.
Registered families must contact the Salvation Army at (780) 532-3720 to arrange pick-up of grocery gift cards.
