Dear Program Operator,
The Community Procurement Unit (CPU) is working in collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to create resources related to procurement in the Child and Adult Care Food (CACFP) Program.
The purpose of this communication is to announce the availability of new procurement resources in the Download Forms section of the Child Nutrition Information and Payment System (CNIPS), which include the following:
- CPU 00: Community Procurement Unit (CPU) Document Library
- CPU 03: Interagency Agreement for CACFP
The CPU 03, Interagency Agreement for CACFP, is an optional resource and is intended for operators that procure meals from an outside agency (e.g., school food authority). The interagency agreement between the requesting agency (recipient) and the servicing agency (provider) defines the terms, conditions, roles, and responsibilities under which reimbursable work will be performed. An interagency agreement fosters greater economy and efficiency to promote cost-effective use of shared services.
As a reminder, the purpose of the CPU Document Library is to provide additional information of each resource and to identify any replacement to a previously issued CACFP form.
We encourage all CACFP agencies to review the resources as they become available. If your agency currently has procurement processes in place, we encourage you to review the resources, and incorporate information or processes that may be needed based on local, state, or federal procurement regulations and standards.
The resources provided by the CPU are optional and are intended to assist agencies with navigating procurement in the CACFP.
