"Us" on Masterpiece
In a drama tinged with humor and heartbreak, Tom Hollander (Baptiste, The Night Manager) and Saskia Reeves (Luther) play a couple who embark on a long-planned grand tour of Europe, despite the wife’s wrenching proclamation that she wants to leave the marriage. The miniseries is based on a novel by best-selling author David Nicholls. The Daily Telegraph (UK)  called it a “brilliantly witty and heartfelt drama about a family on the edge.” Premieres Sunday, June 20 at 9pm.
From The GM's Desk

Happy summer!  I am writing this amidst one of our recent thunderstorms and am grateful for the seasons here in central PA that bring such lovely shades of green to our community.  As we are closing our fiscal year this month, I can’t help but reflect back on what an amazing year we have had.  During an unprecedented pandemic, we have continued our TV and radio operations and productions, we have blazed new trails in virtual event production and hosting, we reinvigorated our educational efforts, we closed a financial gap by being excellent stewards of the monies we receive and we have supported one another and stayed connected.  And, we kept everyone healthy and safe.  I could not be more thrilled and proud of our achievements. Thank you!

All my best ...

How Public Broadcasting Overcame Early Setbacks To Become A National Institution
The educational mission of public media remains its backdrop. It is a free informational service that endeavors to reach every possible listener, for the purpose of informing, introducing different perspectives and beliefs, and providing an active medium for up-to-the-minute analysis. At times it has struggled to meet its ideals in practice, but that we have a legacy institution designed to follow a mission statement, and not merely seek profit, remains a major contribution to democratic discourse. The Shocking Way Your Body Makes Electricity
Strange but true!

Would You Like Fries With That?
A small town in Florida accidentally sold its water tower in a blundered real estate transaction. A businessman purchased a municipal building underneath the city of Brooksville’s water tower last April for $55,000 with the goal of converting it into a gym. However, when Bobby Read went to the county to get an address for his new business location, he was told the parcel he bought included the entire water tower site, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Luckily for the town, Read was willing to give it back. City Manager Mark Kutney blamed the use of a bad legal description for what happened. The city’s redevelopment agency director resigned after the accidental sale. “We’re human,” Kutney said. “Sometimes we make a mistake.” [AP - 6/14/21]
