The Consortex Project – European Internationalisation Maritime Consortia is a project co-funded by the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, that aims to improve competitiveness, stimulate innovation, increase exports and promote cooperation in the shipbuilding sector in the Atlantic Area.
The main goal of the project is to form at least five export consortia consisting of European interregional SME’s who specialise in the manufacture of certain built-in packages for marine vessels and structures (bridge, engine room, accommodation and deck) including offshore vessels, marine power plants, cruise ships, scientific vessels and naval.
The project is led by Foro Maritimo Vasco, based in Spain, and involves partners from Portugal, Spain, France, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
