Still moving . . . .
This week all eyes were on the Government Shutdown. I cannot say how disappointing it is that our President has to hold people's lives as "pawns" for his WALL. Terminals at airports are shutting down and people are working without pay. Our farmers will be hurt (once again) by the shutdown as they start to prepare for 2019 planting season and as they try to apply for loans for their equipment, storage and operations. This will have a trickle down effect into those communities in our Thumb area and those communities are not doing as well economically already. I know all of us are calling and writing our Representatives, so keep up the good work. Mitchell's office is sending a response generic letter blaming Democrats (I am not surprised). note: Mitchell hasn't voted on some important legislation this week. We need to keep focused to get him OUT of office. So with that, let's get focused and let's get started . . .

YOU'RE INVITED! Please register to attend this Event.
2019 VOLUNTEER MOBILIZATION MEETING
February 23, 2019 [12:30pm - 3pm]
We will be discussing > NEXT STEPS for 2019. Registered guests will receive the Agenda and things that you will need to have ready for the meeting. I choose this place to support my local community and local business – many tourist areas around the Thumb need support where they can get it. My apologies for the longer drive for some of you. I cannot say enough how IMPORTANT it will be going into 2020 to start conversations early with our Neighbors. We have to start early with our messages and community involvement – our democracy, seniors and retirement, health care, veterans, public schools, unions and our ENVIRONMENT is still at STAKE. Team Bizon has a PLAN to engage and move us forward. I know it sounds early, but we will have a plan that we can all work on at our own pace. PLUS, you can meet new people of "like-minds".

Weekly POLL-ITICS:
The RESULTS in in for how YOU feel about the Wall vs. Technology. Here are the results.

I am impressed with the voting engagement and thank you for those that participated. It gives us some idea of what people want and what they are thinking. If only Mitchell would do something like this. Having a clear path to what your constituents are thinking is KEY for a Representative to be effective and successful, in my opinion. This week's: "TODAY'S POLL-ITICS. Do you think we have a Border Security Crisis?" Housekeeping:
Thank you for those that donated this last week, We are still in need of some help to balance our 2018 account. (we're almost there) If you could help out, that would be great. To DONATE, you can mail in a check to Committee to Elect Kimberly Bizon at PO Box 52, Lexington, MI 48450 or you can DONATE online at: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/2018final.
Weekly Briefing:
I've been on the road with the Team. We were able to meet with Huron County Dems, Macomb County Dems and North Macomb Dems. I personally have expressed my concerns for having a Sign Language Interpreter at larger events. My uncle Jimmy had hearing disabilities so I am strong advocate for this service being more readily available for candidates and guest speakers. The Disability Caucus offers these services, so I will be sure to try use this service moving forward. This week, I will be attending more County Dem Groups and seeing what their plan is for winning in 2020 on the "in between levels" of government.
Behind the Scenes:
I thought I would share a quick video with me talking about Gun Reform. Yes, I did have a speaking "Coach" early on for the campaign. Take a look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7SkvDZpoko
Thanks everyone and have a great week,
- Kimberly Bizon
