On Monday, I was honoured to be asked by the Prime Minister to serve as Home Secretary. There’s a great deal of hard work to be done and key challenges ahead. Above all, I am thankful for the continued support of my constituents without whom none of this would be possible. My Bromsgrove constituents will always be my priority.
If you feel as though I can be of assistance in any way, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I always appreciate hearing from you.
Best wishes,

Sajid Javid
Member of Parliament for Bromsgrove

We had great news to kick off the month, with our very own Bromsgrove town crier, Kevin Ward retaining his well-deserved title as the winner of Warwick Town Criers Competition 2018.
Then came the Bromsgrove Sporting win, who are now champions of the Midlands League Premier Division. This is a huge achievement for the team, management and amazing fans.

We also now have a Commonwealth Games medalist in our midst, with Emily Kay from Bromsgrove winning Bronze in the 10km scratch race final, it looked like an incredible last day at the velodrome. Congratulations, Emily.

I was proud to show my support for World Parkinson’s Day. Millions around the world are living with Parkinson's disease right now. It's so important that we continue to raise awareness & do all we can for those affected.

I'm delighted that the town's historic high street market has been brought back under council control.
Bromsgrove market has been a feature of the town since the 1200s and following the uncertainty placed on its future at the beginning of the year, I'm very glad that Councillor Karen May and her colleagues did such a brilliant job in ensuring its future.
We’re lucky to have wonderful, incredibly hardworking traders - and this deal will ensure it stays that way.

It was great to catch up with my constituents, Emily Watkins and Megan Bassey, who are both Youth Ambassadors for the One Campaign.
Their work is so important, and we had a good discussion about the UK overseas aid budget and global gender equality.

National Care Home Open Day does an incredibly important job, encouraging care homes to open their doors to highlight the key values of friendship, making connections and celebrating older and vulnerable people.
This year’s theme was Linking Communities, highlighting the importance of creating lasting links between care homes and their communities.
I had the pleasure of spending time at Heathbrook House Care Home and St John's Court Nursing Home.

It was great to meet up with West Mercia Police Commissioner, John Campion to discuss local policing priorities.
I’m confident that John will continue to do all he can to ensure Bromsgrove is well-policed and well-served. The public safety of my Bromsgrove constituents, and members of the public throughout West Mercia is the key priority.

I really enjoyed my meeting with the fantastic Dennis Norton. I took the opportunity to thank him for all he continues to do to share the incredible history of Bromsgrove with the next generation.
Bromsgrove would not be the place it is today without Dennis, who founded the Norton Collection which contains thousands of items relating to Bromsgrove and its history. Thanks to Dennis, the collection also has a beautiful home in the museum.
