Hey there,
As I write this, Jordan and Ty are airplane-bound for Miami. Why? Because the first Democratic presidential debate is tomorrow!
We're barred from the debates (due to "space constraints"), but we're still going because we're going to give the microphone back to the people.
Here's why we don't mind as much about being barred as we would otherwise—and If it wasn't so horrendous, I'd be laughing my head off because it's just so absurd—a lot of the people (most?) who will be inside the debates are either politicians or they're very wealthy—some reports show that tickets for debate seats have gone for $4,000+. It's crazy! Gee, I wonder if Bernie voters can afford those ticket prices, NOT!
What we think are most important are the people on the outside...everyday people. There's a Medicare 4 All march that will be going on outside of the debate venue, for example. We're going to give a microphone to those people to hear their views.
It's essential that we're there and we couldn't have done it without your support. We at Status Coup believe that in-field reporting is invaluable and we're excited about this trip for all the right reasons.
$4,000-per-seat-payers be damned.
I also wanted to show you this picture I asked Jordan to send me. I texted him as he was on his way to the airport and told him to take a picture of himself there so I could put it in this email.
Here's what he sent:

Poor Jordan. The man hasn't slept in a week.
But, here he is, going to Miami to cover what the people really feel about the presidential debates and the 2020 Democratic candidates. There's no one who works harder in media! And it's YOU who give him the energy to keep on going.
There's no way to sugarcoat it... this trip to Miami is costing a fortune and our monthly costs are adding up. While Jordan's having trouble sleeping and chugging along, I'd like to give him something to smile about.
I'd love for him to know that there are people out there cheering him and his work on.
That's where you come in.
Are you a monthly sustaining member of Status Coup?
If you're not, I really hope you'll consider becoming one today, for just $5.
I know even $5 is tough for some of you so absolutely don't contribute if it's a hardship in any way. But if you DO have a spare $5 this month, please go to http://StatusCoup.com/join and become a member now.
Not only will you be injecting Status Coup with much-needed financing, but you also get access to great bonus perks such as monthly member calls and behind-the-scenes videos. That's just the start! We have LOTS of great ideas to expand what's offered for members over the coming months, so join now for access to those things too.
Come on, let's put a smile on Jordan's face. Let's fund Status Coup so we can thrive, report in-field, and give the microphone back to the people.
Here's the link to join (and I can't WAIT to show Jordan how many people have signed up today).
We're at 482 monthly members right now, and we'd like to get to 500 today. Your $5 could be what puts us over the edge!

Please join now and support the Miami trip and beyond... and get great stuff while you're at it. We're having a definite celebration when we reach 500 members! (and I will have something special in there for you tonight if you join now).
