As this eventful year draws to a close, I'd like to wish all of my constituents a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year; I hope that you all have a good rest and an enjoyable break.
My record breaking Third Annual Pensioners' Fair was a brilliant way to mark the end of the year. We had a record turn-out, with fitness, first-aid and flower-arranging demos throughout the morning. We were also lucky enough to have live music from local singer, Helen Pearson. Thank you to all the exhibitors, volunteers and helpers that made my Fair such a success.
Last week I was delighted to announce the largest increase in police funding since 2010. Total funding for policing in 2019/20 will rise by up to £970 million. For Bromsgrove, and across West Mercia, this means up to an extra £16 million in 2019/20. I will continue to do all I can to support our brave and hardworking police forces, and to keep my constituents safe.
As ever, if I can be of any assistance, please do get in touch with my office on sajid.javid.mp@parliament.uk
Best wishes,

Sajid Javid
Member of Parliament for Bromsgrove

Earlier this year, Age UK BRWF welcomed their new Chief Executive Officer, Sam Humphray and we were lucky enough to have them as an Exhibitor at this year's Pensioners' Fair.
Age UK BRWF do so much to support older people and their families across our region. At my Pensioners' Fair we had a particular focus on raising awareness around falls prevention as well as the work that is being done locally around raising awareness and reducing the stigma around Dementia.
With this in mind, the Age UK BRWF Board is looking for committed individuals, with a range of skills and experiences, to join the Board of Trustees.
If you are interested in finding out more about becoming a Trustee, please contact Sam Humphray on 01527 871840.
A copy of the Trustee Application Pack can also be downloaded from the charity’s website https://www.ageuk.org.uk/brwf/get-involved/volunteer/

I'm always proud to see my constituents getting behind important causes so it was great to see that Bromsgrove Rugby Club have been supporting the White Ribbon campaign.
Thank you to the whole team for standing together against domestic abuse and sexual violence.

The Bromsgrove Christmas Market is always a roaring success and this year's Market was no exception.
We had great performances from the cast of White Christmas from Redditch Operatic Society, Chadsgrove School Choir, Artrix Songstars Showchoir, and the Theatre Workshop Choir to name but a few.
Thanks to everyone at Friends of St John's Church and at Bromsgrove District Council for making the day such a success.

Small businesses contribute so much to our local economy and it's vital that we do all we can to celebrate and support them.
For Small Business Saturday I headed down to Bromsgrove High Street to chat to some of our brilliant small business owners.
After hearing from local entrepreneurs such as Lorita Cornish, who has opened Decanter Spirit (her second independent business on the High Street), the message remains the same: shop local!

I was proud to be at the launch of West Mercia Neighbourhood Watch recently. We all have a part to play in keeping each other safe, and Neighbourhood Watch allows us all to be proactive and to contribute to a safer, more secure society.
West Mercia Neighbourhood Watch with financial support from the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner, John Campion, are rolling out new look Neighbourhood Watch signage personalised for each community to remind members of those communities and those who might seek to harm them that we are ready to lookout for our neighbours.
Thank you to all of our brilliant volunteers, it was a pleasure to meet many of you at the launch.

I had an inspiring trip to the Alvechurch Christmas Tree Festival recently.
The Festival was well-worth the visit, and I'm always amazed by the creativity that goes into making the Festival such a vibrant event.
I was particularly proud to support the Festival this year given the important work that they have been doing to support the homeless this winter.

I'd like to leave you all with some Christmas cheer; the talented winner and runners-up of my 2018 Christmas Card competition.
A huge well-done to Bromsgrove's very own mini Picasso, and winner of my 2018 MP Christmas card competition, Alice from Dodford First School. Keep drawing, Alice!
My talented runners-up were Hannah and Ella from Charford First School, and also the brilliant Molly from Coppice Primary School.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with next year!
